Dowie has been a player at Saints and knows what it takes to get us up a league.

Saints have also lacked in goals and Dowie was a superb striker as he wowed the saints faithful at The Dell.

Although the club has said it's Dodd and Gorman Dowie is likely to be red hot favourite to fill the boots that Burley left behind.
