Fans backing for Sir Clive

In the Vital Southampton site poll we wanted to find out what Saints fans thought of Sir Clive Woodward's involvement at Southampton, after his controversial switch from Rugby.

The response was huge, with Woodward's position at the club polarising opinion among Saints fans.

We asked if you thought Sir Clive would be able to help Saints rebuild. A large proportion of fans have backed him to succeed, with over 54% saying he should stay. A further 14% believe he should remain, as long as he leaves George Burley to do all the coaching.

Nearly a third of fans polled are less optimistic the club can progress with Sir Clive, with 30% saying he should have stuck to rugger.

Poll results:

Can Sir Clive help Saints rebuild ?

Yes, he's a winner 54%
No, stick to rugger 30%
If he leaves Burley to coach 14%
Don't know 2%

In out next poll we want to find out what has been George Burley's best aquisition in his frantic rebuilding during the transfer window ?

Vote in the poll to the right of this article. If you don't think its any of the suggested players let us know in the forum.

Loads of burleys signings are good - he's a better wheeler dealer than twitchy. Chaplow, Ostlund, Bartosz, Rasiak all will be class, reckon Madsen will come good too when fully fit.
ronnie
shame Chalpows only a loan - dont reckon we'll be able to keep him either. he looks quality.

Ostlund gonna be a cult hero. He's a class no nonsense defender, looks good going forward and he looks like an absolute nutter too.

Gotta be Rasiak, not many managers can attract player of his level back to this league. He's the biggest name to come to the Championship in transfer window..maybe joint with that polish striker wolves signed.
Spartak
i cannot help rebuild because he is not a footballer- quote by a muppet the real deal is he is a motivator and eh sets plera targets which is a realistic way of trying to make them more effective
