Got Ourselves A CORKer?

Saints today signed promising youngster Jack Cork on loan from Chelsea. He will be wearing the number 30 shirt until New Years Day (at least).

Its good to see that Jan has moved quickly to replace the gap left by Andrew Davies and hopefully the quality of his replacement will be of equal value. And whos to say it wont be? After all the lad is on the books at Chelsea.

Cork has found it difficult to break into the Chelsea ranks, but most would. After all Terry, Cole and Ferreira are all in front of him. Something tells me we have got someone special here. Lets hope he is, and that he is given the chance to show his talent.

Our friends over at Chelsea Vital had this to say:
'Cork, who was featured on Chelsea TV last night after competing in a first team against the reserves match, at Cobham, will stiffen the Southampton defence whilst also giving them the option of deploying the England U19 captain as a holding midfielder'.

never heard of him. good thing or bad thing? will he be given the chance to show what he can do? will he be an ample deputy for svensson?
th3saint
he is considered a hot prospect for chelsea if not he would be for sale rather than on loan gaining experience, last year he was on loan at s****horpe and although got relegated he did much to impress walking away with all there player of the year trophies

He will do well for you. He played over 30 games for Scunthorpe and scored a couple of crackers as well. He has good breeding too - his dad is Alan Cork who played for the Crazy gang!!

He was captain of the reserves as well, I hope he does well!
Mikeyblue
he also won loads of awards whilst at Scunny - they wanted him back but you were the better option - look after him!

He was good at the youn Euro tournament. Played all games for England. Grat promise, needs hardening and that he will get next to Killer Svensson.

Do you think the move could be made permanent makelele4eva? Some good comments about him there. Looks like we've done a good deal
therainmaker
i dont know i guess there is a possibility it would be made permanent as at chelsea we seem to buy established players and the amount of players he would have to overtake in the pecking order is very high, i dont want to see him leave as he is a good prospect but im sure he will be loaned out for another couple of years. also he plays a number of position, centre back, right back and holding role in midfield so he should be a good buy for you. hopefully he will flourish

Best of luck to the Lad.
