Swansea 3-0 Southampton: Manager Reactions

How did Jan Poortvliet and Roberto Martinez react after Southampton's 3-0 defeat at Swansea? Lets take a look.

'We are disappointed to have lost 3-0 but we were never dangerous,' Southampton's Poortvliet told BBC Sport. 'We didn't have enough power to create anything and their win was deserved because they did more to win the game.

'We need to turn the boys into men and that is all about confidence.'

His rival Swansea counterpart Martinez was obviously happier though, although he did give praise to Southampton: 'It was one of those days that in every single department you can get many positives,' Martinez told BBC Sport. 'To be able to control play that way and perform with the intensity that we did is pleasing but I think Southampton were the best footballing side we've had here this season.

'We are looking at that performance and it seems that we are slowly getting into this division.

'It was bad news for us that Marcos Painter was stretchered off in the second-half with a knee injury but we are talking about weeks out rather than months. '
