'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Poortvliet Praises Pearce

Manager Jan Poortvliet has stated how impressed he was with the impact debut signing Alex Pearce had in Saints' 3-2 win at Deepdale.

Pearce signed on loan from Reading last week and was placed straight into the starting eleven against Preston.

Pearce had a solid performance at the back and scored the goal which started the dramatic comeback at Deepdale.

'Alex did a terrific job. He is a man who goes for the win and brings players with him.' Said Poortvliet

'He was amazing with all the free kicks and corner kicks. Hopefully he will do that every week, and we can go on to keep more clean sheets as well.'
