Pearce picks young Saints

Both Adam Lallana and Jack Cork have been selected for the Under-21 England friendly against the Czech Republic on Tuesday 17th November. The two have been playing well for the Saints and have caught Stuart Pearce`s eye for the second time.

Lallana and Cork were selected to play against Wales in the two legged affair and both played in them. Yet, they were only introduced as substitutes when the team were comfortable. The young lions beat the young dragons 2-3 at Ninian Park and the following fixture at Villa Park ended a 2-2 draw. This secured England`s place in the European Championships in Sweden next year.

Next Tuesday`s fixture is a tricky friendly against a strong Czech side. It is the first fixture since the 2-2 draw at Villa Park on Tuesday 14th October. This will give Pearce a good opportunity to test his young side, in preparation for the Championships next summer.

I really back Lallana, I hope we (QPR) make a move for him in January, a really useful prospect.

He is such a good talent. I hope we can hang on to him, but our record of keeping our better players isn't good. We will probably sell him in January or next summer.

its such a shame when good young players end up being sold on....
