'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Poortvliet Can`t Wait!

Saints boss Jan Poortvliet was dreaming of a glamorous third round cup tie - and that is exactly what the Dutchman got. Saints have been drawn against the Champions League holders, Manchester United.

Poortvliet revealed his excitement: 'It was a great moment and it's what you hope for as a coach, and it will be a fantastic occasion for all the boys and for the fans.'

'I'm looking forward to it,' he said, 'Sir Alex is the best coach in England in terms of what he has won over the years and I'm curious to see how we will fare against them."

The match will be a great opportunity for the young Saints side, and it is their chance to show the nation what they are capable of: 'It will be the ultimate test,' he continued. 'We will be going for it and if we take our chances then anything is possible. It's another game in another competition and who knows what might happen.'
