Holmes Set For Return

Saints winger Lee Holmes is nearly ready to return after suffering a tragic knee injury way back in September.

The ex-Derby County player had to come off in the first half when the Saints traveled to Loftus Road earlier this season. It was clear at the time that Holmes was in a lot of agony and that he would be on the sideline for months.

However, the 21 year old has showed great determination to re-gain fitness: 'My fitness is good. I've been back in full training this week so now the sooner I can get some games under my belt the better.'

Being an ex-Derby player, Holmes declared his added incentive to get fit for Saturday's game: 'being from Derby means that all you ever want to do is beat Forest.' However, Saturday could be too early for the eager 21 year old to be back in action.

To see Holmes back in contention for the first team is great news for Saints fans. Before his freak injury, the winger was showing great signs of what he can do.

So happy about this, and apparently he may even feature tomorrow!! We have been lacking pace and desire on the left wing since Holmes got injured. I do hope he can stay fit, because he is such a valid member of th team. Well done Lee for getting fit so quickly!!

Can't wait for him to be back...would love to see him bomb up and down the left wing tomorrow.
