Svensson Becomes Backroom Staff

Newly appointed manager Mark Wotte has chosen his backroom staff, with Saints legend Michael Svensson accepting the invitation to join the backroom staff.

The Swede is still going through his rehabilitation in order to re-gain fitness from an Achilles injury which has dampened his season.

The commanding centre back will be joining Dean Gorré in his new role of assistant coach, and head coach Mark Wotte is excited about Svensson's new role: 'I am very happy Michael Svensson has agreed to join the coaching staff. Michael is a great role model, and with his experience as a top defender I am sure that he will be of great value to help me with the challenge that lies ahead.'
