New Watford date confirmed

New Watford date confirmed

Saints have received confirmation of the date for their re-arranged trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford.

The game is set to be played on Tuesday 7th April 2009, with a 19:45 kick-off.

The reason why there is such a long period of time between the orginal fixture and the re-arranged date, is because Watford have a high number of mid-week matches between now and April.

The switch causes a mini fixture pile-up for Mark Wotte's side, with Charlton visiting St Mary's just three days prior to the Watford game. (4th April)

Not only that, but Saints will be playing twice in two days over the following Easter weekend.

The games against Watford and Charlton are massive six pointers, and wins in both of these games could go some way to ensuring Saints preserve their Championship status.

FANS WHO HAVE PURCHASED TICKETS FOR THE POSTPONED WAFORD FIXTURE ARE REMINDED THAT THEIR TICKETS ARE STILL VALID FOR THE RE-ARRANGED GAME.

IF PEOPLE ARE UNABLE TO MAKE THE RE-ARRANGED DATE, YOU CAN GET A REFUND BY CONTACTING THE SOUTHAMPTON TICKET OFFICE. FOLLOW THE LINK TO THE OFFICIAL CLUB WEBSITE FOR MORE DETAILS.

Massive game, can't wait! Was gutted when it got postponed but will definitely be going to this one. If we can get wins against Charlton and Watford, then that would be a huge step towards survival. Here's hoping!

Very excited! I saw us lose 3-2 at their place last season. Hoping we can get one over them this time. Would be a big 3 points if we can get them. COYR!!!

I'm not overly confident about this one. Watford always seem to get the better of us whenever we play them. I predict they'll stuff us once again. 3-0 them I say.

Come on Saints! now the game is at a crucial part of the season (right at the end) so we have to win! i was so gutted that it was PP but this gives the boys some serious time to prepare. I just hope that the boys know how deep they are in...it is up to them to save SFC...

to be honest sfc123, i don't think watford will go down. i think theyve got enough about them to put a string of wins together to pull themselves away from danger.
