McLaggon's season ends early

Saints' youngster Kayne McLaggon has ruptured his left Achilles, bringing a premature end to his season.

The 18-year-old picked up the injury during a routine training session, and the forward is now concentrating on getting back to full fitness for the start of the new campaign.

McLaggon has featured eight times for the Saints this season, scoring once in the 2-2 draw away with Norwich at Carrow Road.

The speedy striker also made an appearance during Southampton's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United in the FA Cup 3rd round.

McLaggon has looked like a decent prospect when he's featured this season. It's a shame his season has ended in this manor but definitely one for the future.
