Wotte glad for international break

Saints boss Mark Wotte is grateful for the international break at this crucial part of the season.

No games will take place in the Premiership or Championship this Saturday due to a number of international matches scheduled for the weekend.

This gives the Saints a two-week break between the 1-1 draw at Blackpool and their next game, where the south coast club host Charlton on April 4th.

The break is the last chance for the Saints to prepare for what is a stressful end to the season.

Mark Wotte's side will play five of their seven matches in the space of two weeks, and therefore this fortnight break will give the players a chance to re-group and prepare for the relegation dogfight that lies ahead.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, Wotte said, "I know some people think we have to train every day to improve the team but the mentality of the players was excellent at Blackpool because they had three days off in the week."

Wotte is right. We have such a compact run-in, playing 5 games in 2 weeks! The boys really need their rest in order to compose themselves, for what is the biggest fortnight for this sleeping giant. Come on Saints!
