Wotte: Palace game could end our season

Mark Wotte feels that if his side do not pick up the three points on Easter Monday, it could be all over for the Saints.

Crystal Palace come to St. Mary's on Easter Monday, and Mark Wotte feels that the three points are essential if his side are going to avoid the drop to League 1.

The Saints have been underachieving in recent weeks, having only picked up four points in the last six games.

Southampton are on the back of a 3-0 drumming at the league leaders, and Wotte was livid as his side had lost the game in the first 18 minutes.

Wotte understands the situation his side is in as he speaks to the Daily Echo: "We have to be realistic now. We are relying on other team`s performances.

"If we don`t pick up three points on Monday it could be the end of the season.

"We really really have to get an attitude to play a game like it is a final and we have to be ready before the game starts.'

I think he's right, we NEED the 3 points otherwise we have to prepare for league 1 next season. I just hope that we can get the three points to keep the great escape alive!!
