Swans edge closer to Dyer deal

Southampton boss Mark Wotte has come to terms with the fact that he may have to let Nathan Dyer go.

Dyer joined the Welsh club on loan in January, and has settled in well at the Championship side.

The 21-year-old signed a three year deal at St. Mary's at the start of last season, but found himself being loaned out to Sheffield United, before going to the Liberty Stadium.

Wotte understands Dyer's desire to play Championship football, but is only willing to let him go if the deal is right.

Speaking to saintsfc.co.uk, the Dutchman said: 'Nathan Dyer is still waiting to see what Swansea decide to do and we are waiting for their Chairman to make a better offer, but we are getting closer.

'If Swansea really want Nathan then they have to improve their original offer and then perhaps we can complete a deal. He has told me that he really wants to stay there, so if Swansea can come up with the money then he will go and I can accept that.'

With Nathan not featuring a lot last season, I doubt he will be missed. He has potential, and I'm sure (if played in the right position) he'll do well for Swansea.

Another excellent prospect who will move onto bigger and better things. Swansea will get a bargain.
