'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Davis: It's fantastic news

Southampton captain Kelvin Davis was delighted to hear the Pinnacle Consortium backed by Matthew Le Tissier have been granted exclusivity for the next three weeks.

The 32-year-old is on holiday in Spain with his family and was ecstatic when he heard to good news.

Davis told the official website: 'It's fantastic news for everyone involved with the Southampton Football Club. I'm a Southampton player through and through and this may mean I don't have a decision to make.

'Let's hope that this news means a big step forward for the Club and that negotiations now move forward quickly so that the club's situation becomes clear as soon as possible.'

Davis, along with his teamates were contacted yesterday and were told they were not going to receive their wages for this month.

However, the cash recieved from the Pinnacle Consortium could see that problem quickly resolved, and Davis along with the others are delighted with the good news.

The group fronted by Saints legend Le Tissier now have 21 days to finalise a deal to take over Southampton Football Club.

At last! Some good news. I'm sure the players are delighted with the news. It's nice seeing that Davis is positive and talking about next year. I do hope he stays.

You can say that again Kelvin! Things are very positive at the moment and there will be a buzz around the city again. Hopefully we can get this deal in the next 21 days and get the ST sales on the up. COYR!!
