Saints host Northampton
Saints have been drawn against League Two side Northampton Town in the first round of the Carling Cup.
The draw was made today at 10am and the Cobblers will travel to St. Mary's on August 10 for a 19:45 kick-off.
Both clubs were relegated from their respective leagues last season and will be eager to get their seasons off to a good start with a win in the League Cup.
The two sides met in the competition back in 2004 at Sixfields, and the Saints cruised to a 3-0 win thanks to goals from David Prutton, Kevin Phillips and Neil McCann.
