Saints pass fitness tests

Saints pass fitness tests

Southampton players earn themselves extra holiday after passing the 'fat test' this week.

The squad started training on Monday - while the majority of other sides were enjoying their summer holidays.

Mark Wotte and his coaching staff brought the squad together this week including Grzegorz Rasiak who returned from his loan spell with Watford.

The players took a series of fitness tests to assess their fitness levels and they all passed.

They now can enjoy another weeks holiday, before they have to return on June 22 when pre-season officially starts.

This is very encouraging, I was pleased to see the players called in early for fitness tests. It's a good sign that they all passed, and now they can enjoy another break before they really have to knuckle down in pre-season.

Hopefully they can be fit for Millwall. That's when it really matters.
