Reid open to Southampton offers

Reid open to Southampton offers

Peter Reid would consider a job offer from Southampton Football Club.

Reid, 52, is the current Thailand manager, but the ex-Sunderland boss admitted that an offer from the south coast club could tempt him to return to England.

The rival consortium to the Pinnacle group, led by Dorset businessman Marc Jackson have made Peter Reid their top choice to manage Southampton.

The Daily Echo contacted the Thailand manager, who told them he plans to see out the three years remaining on his contract, but he is open to an offer from Saints.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, Reid said: "This is the first I have heard of it.

"I`ve just got a job with the Thailand national football side and we`ve got Liverpool coming over next month (for a pre-season friendly), which I am looking forward to.

"So that is just pure speculation and I know nothing about it, but if a club like Saints were interested, I`d look at all situations.'

I am a fan of Reid, he's passionate and knows his stuff. But how much does he know about L1 football????? He's been in Thailand for the past year, I doubt he's kept up with it!
