McGoldrick leaves for Forest
Nottingham Forest have finalised the deal which sees David McGoldrick move to the City Ground.
Southampton will receive an undisclosed fee, which is reportedly a seven figure sum for Saints' top scorer last season.
The 21-year-old started his career at Notts County and the striker will be returning to Nottingham, but playing for the red half of the city just the other side of the river Trent.
The Nottingham born striker has signed a four year deal with Forest, and Mark Wotte spoke to the Daily Echo about the move: 'David was keen to sign for Nottingham as he has family connections in the city and was desperate to play in the Championship. We wish him well.
'He scored 14 goals and played every single match, which shows that he is physically strong as well as talented.
'Considering the financial situation of the club, I hope people can understand the reasons why we have agreed to accept Nottingham Forest's offer, which will hopefully benefit the club as a whole.'
