Lee Barnard has won the February award because of a string of impressive performances. Those performances and a few goals to start him off on the goal scoring charts as a Saint.


Lee has started well with the Saints. His work rate was never in doubt as he waited patiently to open his goal scoring account for his new team.

This he managed with a match winning brace against Norwich at Carrow Road. his goals bringing down the league leaders. This confirmed to us that he could continue the goal scoring that he managed whilst at Southend United.

He has continued his goalscoring with another brace. This time as part of a massively important win against Walsall. The 5-1 scoreline not flattering the Saints as Barnerd and Lambert start racking up the goals.

Lambert finished in second place as he maintained his form. His fine run in front of goal continues and he has now racked up 26 goals up till the end of February.

3rd place was just claimed by Adam Lallana. He edged in front of Jose Fonte who was superb in defence. Both men turning in some impressive performances at either end of the pitch.

Good choice. At first we were unsure but in the last four games we have seen why our manager wanted Lee onboard. With Lee and Ricky we are doubly blessed.

When Lee first played for us I wondered what the fuss was all about. He worked hard enough but didn't seem to be capable of being a top scorer for us. How minds can be altered. Now we are wondering how we managed without him.
