Snodgrass Confident Of Stopping Southampton

The scorer of Leeds united's winning goal at Elland Road against the Saints. He is fully confident of repeating the win and stopping Saints winning run.

Saints have won their last six league games and in their last two have scored five. Leeds go to SMS on the back of a good 4-1 win away to Tranmere who stopped Saints unbeaten run.

Snodgrass believes that the win at Tranmere shows Leeds are back on song.' We show every team respect and don't get carried away. Southampton have been on a run but if we focus on our own performance and realise what got us a result on Tuesday we have to try and replicate that,' he said.

'They will be firing, they have some good players, and some good strikers, and it's up to us to stop them and get a few goals at the other end.'

Only time will tell whether he is right or wrong.

Confidence can lead to defeat if overly so. So let them think it will be a walk in the park and we might catch them short.

Our team is a lot different now to when we met. I think we have a good chance of getting a good result.

He'll wish he hadn't said that tomorrow night after we do it again and score a shedload.

I'll take a point before K O, but be far happier with 3 role on prom otion

Who'll win on recent form? Ask a Tranmere fan?
Rotherham White
RW you keep on about Tranmere but if you had got the ref we had you would have lost same as us maybe.

Leeds fan here. Lets not get carried away. Saints have made some good signings since we played them and this game could go either way. Very confident in Leeds raising their game as they do in big occasions thoughbut still tough

I can see a high scoring draw. Still going for the win but hope it is not gonna be a disappointment.

This is it. The biggest game of the season. Elland Road we were not as good as we are now. What we want to see now is that we have continued the improvements that we need. Let the best team win.

Lambert and Bernard, the best strike partnership in the league against Beckford who is the best striker in the league with Becchio who is on current scoring form. There will be goals. I do think Snodgrass,Howson,Doyle and Mc Sheffrey may just be a little too strong for the Southampton midfield and I think the Tranmere win didn't do The Saints any justice even if the ref was biased because Leeds ran total rings around them on the next game. Southampton have underacheived this season and do have the quality to get something out of the game, even a win but will they step up to the mark. Im confident Leeds will step up and go straight out of the traps and im glad from a Leeds point of view that early season form and great passing play is looking as though it's returning now that the cups are out of the way.

I think we will enjoy a decent pitch and a wide pitch. Should be a cracker and I wish it was us who got Barnard and Puncheon in January.
dazza71
I am very pleased that you didn't. Mind you I quite like the look of Snodgrass.
VSrednwhite
we have managed to beat the Whites and how nerve wracking can that be.sitting listening to the radio is not the same as being there but crikey, as expected Leeds came out in the second half and made us work.
stellarnw
Only disappointment was the lack of goals. We again had a lot of chances that went begging. The good thing was the way we hung on to the lead.
