ITV Want Time Of FA Cup Final Changed

The May 15th showpiece match at Wembley Stadium has been a 3pm kick off treditionally. However there have been several newspaper reports claiming that ITV want a 5.30pm kick off to allow more viewers to watch the game live.

This scheme has come under immediate attack from several places. Malcolm Clarke of the Football Supporters Federation adds his weight to the argument by saying.

'The FA Cup has a great tradition and we see no reason to depart from that by moving it to an evening kick off' He told the Daily Mirror.'

He went in by adding how unpopular it would be with supporters. He also thought that such a move could seriously damage the competition.

He finished by adding that there were already far too many games played in the evenings and at odd times just to secure TV money.

He also felt that fans already suffer enough thanks to the timings of games just to keep the TV companies happy.

You must be joking. To tamper with league games is bad enough. To make one or two games play at different times in the FA Cup is bad enough. But to change the time of the biggest single game in our football heritage is almost blasphemy.

If the powers that be allow this then we will know that they really are as spineless and greedy as we all suspect them to be.

Downright ridiculous what these people are trying to do. If the tv moguls are able to get their way here how the hell can the fans say that the game belongs to us. It is our money that both sides need. Tv for their channels and clubs in the main to live. We should stand together and tell them where to get off.

dem daft. No one knows but I fink we need less tv people messing wiv r game. We cant let dem do it.
