'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Same Again Required By Southampton Manager

After wins in recent games against the 2nd and 6th teams in the league the hosts are looking for another win to claw back some more of the huge gap between them and the 6th placed team.

Swindon have more than held their own in the play-off mix. Even so Pardew told Saints Player 'You want to keep the momentum going. There is real belief in the team and the squad se we need to take that into the next game as soon as we can.'

He added that he never felt we lost it as events at Tranmere seemed to go against us. He didn't think that the team had played that badly although they got frustrated in the last half hour. He felt that the game was approached with the right mentality and it continued with this at home to Leeds.

Pardew said 'I'll prepare my team as I have done all season, to win the game. There were a couple of games early in the season where I had to try to protect us because we weren't good enough. I haven't protected us for a long while now and I won't.'

Pardew also said that Swindon manager Danny Wilson had done well there and Swindon had some good players. He expects them to make it difficult as they will try to stifle us. He feels a draw will do for Swindon whereas a win is a must for the Saints..

I am still waiting for us to falter and collapse in a heap. When we do I won't be surprised. If we don't I will be over the moon.

Why wait for us to falter. I am waiting for us to get to Wembley for the second time.

I sometimes wish that our manager and team would keep their mouths firmly closed. It strikes me that when we start getting over confident we fail to produce our best form.
