Sky Sports News Girls Join Enjoy Match Campaign

forum

The pair recorded a video message for fans, which is online at www.enjoythematch.co.uk

Enjoy the Match encourages mums, dads and their children go watch Football League games from family-friendly areas inside grounds.

This season all 72 Football League clubs are providing family areas for supporters, which are free from bad language and anti-social behaviour.

Football League Director of External Affairs Gavin Megaw said: "We really appreciate Sky`s Georgie and Natalie supporting the Enjoy the Match campaign.

"Live Football League matches provide a great opportunity for families to watch football in a friendly atmosphere. Families across the country are flocking to support their team and experience the thrill of live football in the designated 'Enjoy the Match` stands."

To date, more than 10,000 fans have pledged their support to the campaign, joining famous faces from the world of sport and music including Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker and top rockers Kasabian.

I think that this is a good idea. we need more kids going to see their local teams to become attached. The first thing though would be for clubs to offer free or cut price tickets for the youngest family members.

For once I must concur. The kids of today are tomorrows fans. Footballs future. I just think that it would be a great idea for the clubs to put the families near the pitch so that the younger watchers don't feel overpowered by the noise etc.

It's a bloody good idea I reckon. More girls at a game the better. Give me more people to talk to.

I take one and sometimes two or three of my kids to see Saints play. Money is always the main obstacle for them all going all of the time. It is a good idea to let families have their own section but as is possible in our stadium I believe that they should be spread thinner and nearer to the action. This then lessons the downing of the volune of noise that happens at the moment.

It may be desirable but at Southampton the family section is to big. I agree that it would be better to have the family section spread wider to lesson the lessening of volume.
