'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jason Puncheon Believes

The winger has had a stop go start to his career. He has played across the football league after being released by MK Dons as a teenager.

Spells at Barnet in Division Two and Plymouth Argyle in the Championshipwere contrasting. He also returned home to MK Dons on two loan spells. In fact it was whilst at Mk Dons in his second loan spell that he met his team mates.

He played and scored when the Dons lost 3-1 in the league game at St Mary's. 'I thought that they were the most talented side in the division that I'd played against,' he recalls in tonights programme.

'And now that I've been here and played with them, I know they are. Paul Ince made me believe in myself again. Alan Pardew has convinced me I can drive on to better things. For me it's my best chance of playing in the Premier League. I've got three and a half years here and I seriously believe we have the ability here to make it in that time.'

Let us hope that Jason is right and that we have the strength and quality to climb quickly to the top.

There were times when we looked good today and then there were times we didn't. Jason again did a lot of good things for us against Hartlepool.

Jason has been a good buy so far and has added to the list of buys that have worked out for us. I am glad that he agreed to come to us because he has added some pace and skill to the team.

Jason has done well so far since he arrived. Another good signing to add to the good buys list on Alan Pardew's account cv.
