Saints Are Upwardly Mobile

Eight Months or so since the takeover Alan is reasonably content with the way that the club has progressed. He stressed the importance of the feel good factor that the Wembley trip has brought.

He also gave some insight into how so much has already been done as Nicola Cortese builds the infrastructure for the future of the club. the Academy, training ground and scouting network have been pushed along by the chairman.

This plus the giant strides made with the team improvements shows how deeply involved the new owners have become. Pardew also stressed how the Chairman is striving for success and how he is putting pressure on the playing side.

Alan Pardew stressed, 'At the start of the season before Nicola arrived, this Club was in dire straits. Markus and Nicola have come in and saved this Club. They have given me the opportunity todeliver and they want success.'

'It's my job to deliver it, I have to deliver it on a Saturday and I have to try and deliver the play-offs. That is what I'm being paid to do and I share those ambitions.'

He went to say how the club has given respect to the league and to every team. We have not overspent but we have spent big on Lambert and Fonte. For the rest we have tried to bring in good quality Division One players.

Alan has unfinished business and is looking forward to seeing the job through.

If you feel that he is doing ok and will be staying then that is good to hear.

Sometimes you feel that everything is going to plan. Then you hear rumours and become disturbed and sometimes alarmed. Alan sounds as though he is happy enough and that is ok with me.

Great day today and hopefully Alan can get his troops ready for Brighton on Thursday. There is always the fear that this could effect the way we play for a game or two. We might not be up for the run of the mill after a Wembley trip.

Today I saw a team fighting for the win we all wanted. Gillett coming on was fantastic as he has never let us down. He is not the most skillfull player but he gives his all.
