Southampton To Build For The Premiership

Southampton To Build For The Premiership

Alan Pardew plans to produce this team no matter where we are situated in the great scheme of things.

The Saints boss is still looking at getting into the play-offs this season. If we don't make it he is determined that the team will be ready to go straight for the Premiership, even from Division One.

He has said that which ever league we are in next season he aims to build a team that will be able to get out of the Championship.

Winning games is something that he fully intends this team to become used to. Losing will be something that won't happen very often if he gets the men he wants.

I am hoping that this is not just pie in the sky but a man who knows what he wants and how to get it.

Maybe but when you think about it there is some sense in the thought. Buying players that can go all the way rather than buying to get from this league before starting again makes perfecttly good sense.

Don't you think Pards has been given the nod by the owner? For him to say something like this he must have been told we are going to bring more players in.

For the first time in a while I can safely say that I like what Pardew is saying. He can get some players that will be good enough for us to make it to the Premiership I will be shining my halo.

Right now I am more concerned with our trip to Brighton. We need to win that to have any chance of doing the playoffs this season.
