Dan Seaborne Looks Forward To Fonte Partnership

With Radhi Jaidi out injured Dan hopes to be playing in his absence. The January arrival is no stranger to being thrown in at the deep end. His first game for Saints was at Millwall with Jose Fonte also playing in his Saints' debut.

Seaborne settled in quickly next to the Portugese centre back and admitted that it was not the first time he has had to adjust to a new defensive partner.

More recently he has had to sit it out as Jaidi and Fonte have forged a formidable partnership together. Jaidi getting injured so early in the Easter Monday game let Dan back in for his first full game since February.

His being sidelined was a reminder of how quickly the manager has strengthened the side since arriving. Seaborne, though he wants to play every game, appreciates the values that Jaidi brings to the team and has watched closely as the two experienced CB's worked together so well at the heart of the defence.

Dan admits that he still has a lot to learn and that he is young enough to do so. Whilst hoping that he can show enough to make the manager pick him regularly for the team.

He has shown a lot of promise and does accept that at the moment he is behind Jaidi in the pecking order. He hopes to force his way in front sooner rather than later.

If he does then it can only be good news for the Saints.

Radhi Jaidi he ain't. However Pardew saw something so we have to wait and see whether he will show us what made us bring him here. I am still hoping that Radhi won't be out for too long.

He has shaped with promise but is not any better than some ot the reserves youngsters as far as I can tell.

At times today he was good. The basics are there so maybe he can make it as a long lasting Saint.

Dan looks as though he is prepared to learn which is a good thing. I think we will know if he has a future come summer when players come and go.
