'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Saints Play Reading In Friendly Pre-Season Game.

This game alone shows our intent to start fully primed next season.

It also brings Royals Boss Brian McDermott to the home of the man he worked with when Alan Pardew was at Reading's Madejski Stadium.

The last time Reading visited St Mary's they nicked a 1-1 draw with a late Shane Long goal in December 2008.

The Championship opposition will prove to be a good test as Reading are expected to be amongst the frontrunners in the promotion hunt next season.

Prices already announced seem to be fair.
Adult £12
Concessions £5
Accompanied under 14 Free

Tickets go on sale in mid june and further details will be announced closer to the date.

Tickets bought on the day for adults will cost £15.

Reading could be a good test but I don't see it as a friendly.

Won't be much of a friendly I think. Everybody will be wanting to see us power past them and any other side put in front of us.

This game will be quite intence I think with us full of intent and the new players looking to claim a starting place in our team.
