Hot from the OS is the news of another new initiative from our football club.
The foundation will consolidate and expand on the success of the 'Saints in the Comunity' programme, with a range of new and exciting charitable initiatives.
Football has over the years been a catalyst for many positive changes. The introduction of the Saints Foundation Trust will hopefully aid the development of this concept further.
The sole aim of the new trust will be to raise funds for specific projects. Projects which will create a lasting legacy for many years to come.
The main target is to embrace the collective passion for the club amongst our football family, and support the development of improved facilities in areas of need.
This is yet another example of the thought and planning with which Nicola Cortese shows his commitment to our great club.
The Chairman explained, 'my decision to expand the community programme was driven by my desire to do more for our local community.'
'The Foundation will have a broad appeal to fans, businesses and other charitable givers and it adds a new dimension to our community work in football and sports coaching, education and health.'
The chairman went to say how the Foundation would be introducing s wide range of creative and imaginative ways for fans to be able to support the fund raising efforts.
Club Captain Kelvin Davis then added that the whole playing squad was behind this new initiative. Adding his wholehearted support for the club's ambitions with the new Foundation Trust.
I find it incredible at times when thinking just how much has changed since Mr Cortese arrived at the helm.
The club as was has long gone and it seems that we are given more reason to support the club almost weekly.
This is another tremendous project implemented by our chairman.
