Benjani to Saint's!?!?!?!?!?

Benjani to Saint's!?!?!?!?!?

The word this morning all over the internet is that Benjani of all people could be making a move to the Saint`s, the former Man City and Portsmouth striker is out of contract after being released by city and Pards is apparently planning an ambitious move.

It sounds like something that would be followed with 'my friend knows the tea lady at SMS` or a comment from someone who knows Benjani`s uncles cousins best friends grandmother.

But nonetheless this has a little more credibility than that as it`s been reported by a national newspaper as well as our local Daily Echo. Ok the Echo is hardly the most reputable source of information, but maybe this national news source is one we can rely on?

Well, it depends if you wish to believe the ever sensationalist Daily Mail/Fail, the same newspaper that continually speculated that Pardew was to be sacked and replaced with Steve Cotterill.

In one respect they were right that Cotterill was moving to the South Coast I suppose, but they clearly love to stir.

Is it a serious possibility? I wouldn`t say so based on the sources, it sounds like the Daily Mail have used information from the Echo used from emails from people who`s best friend knows Benjani personally, or someone who vaguely looks like him!

Oh well, I guess we can be eternally grateful that it isn`t Vincent Pericard were linked with.

Now that would be worrying.

He would certainly get some stick if he came down here and didn't improve on what we have. I don't think this has any legs on it but it keeps us interested I suppose.

A Daily Mail story cut 'n' pasted by the Echo has no legs at all. Forget it.

Like Mox said, I don't think there is anything to this, this article was more about rubbishing the idea than anything else.

He certainly isn't the player he was with us. I suspect if you get him you will be disappointed.

Uktony - I think its doubtful that we will get him, the Daily Fail and the Echo are equally as inaccurate and sensationalist. He didn't do badly at Portsmouth admittedly and did ok at City... so if in the unlikely event that he did move to us, it wouldn't be that bad... but it's a big IF

I would imagine his wages would be a big problem compared to what our stars are getting. Whose place would he take?

Like I said, I think this rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt.
