'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Southampton fee For Dickson Set.

With both clubs differing in the valiation of the player and unable to come to an agreement the dispute was settled this afternoon.

Meeting in London the committee will have heard from both parties before reaching their decision.

Because Ryan is under 24 the London club is due compensation which has been set at £125,000 payable now, with further instalments as and when conditions are met.

In addition to the initial payment there are further payments of £25.000 for 10/ 20/ 30 and 40 appearances. There is also a further £25,000 payable if we win promotion. Finally there is a 20% sell on clause.

Meanwhile Ryan has settled in well at our club and looks like staking a claim for the left back slot on saturday. Having played in the majority of our pre-season games, his energetic and accomplished performances have shown him to be a very useful acquisition to our squad.

So by the end of the season the fee could rise to £225,000 with a further 20% sell on clause. Worth it I feel

He is a very good marauding fullback and can defend as well.

I think he will be one of the bargains ofthe year. Not many on Bee's ites say bad things about the lad.

You mugged us, its a disgrace .... Southampton were totally unreasonable knowing offering a low price would go to a tribunal ... ITS DISGUSTING of southampton ... Just as your the biggest club in our league you think you can mess smaller clubs about .... I hope one day justice will be done .... And i dont wish you all the best for your season ... Dicko however i still like the guy .... All he wanted to do was to furthur his career
BradBee
BradBee - What if your club did that to another club? would you be calling it dishonourable of your club? chances are you would call it good business which football is. I can understand your anger because we were raided to hell when we were in financial troubles, but taking your hatred towards us is a little fool hearted. Calm down, drink some coffee... and accept that things happen.
Red army comrade
Bradbee calm down and think as red army comrade says about us last year. We lost players for a pittance when we were short of the cash. It is sad but the big problem is the lack of money filtering down from the Premier league. If all of the chairmen in the football league had followed ours the new amounts would not have been accepted. We would all probably have been in a better posiion then than we are now.

Thanks BB and as our chairman tried over the last deal I am 100% sure he will try again to fight the fat cats.
