'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Business As Usual At Southampton

Following the departure of Alan Pardew he said that he feels once the initial reaction has filtered through the team should settle down quickly enough.

After this morning's training session he said that it went well. Overall he said the session was short and sharp. After the initial moment of surprise the lads appeasred to settle down and did as wanted.

Most of the players will have been in similar positions before and so it won't be that strange to them. Youngsters apart I don't see the decision affecting them a great deal.

The time when the new manager has arrived and made his choices is when the odd bit of disquiet is likely to occur. Till then I see know reason why Dean should have any problems.

The players know him and he knows how we operate so the temporary transition should be smooth enough.

I wish him luck with his position and hope that he does well in the foreseeable future. Not knowing how long he will be in charge it is hoped that the players will play for him.

Dean did ask for the supporters to try and forget the situation at the top and to come and cheer the boys on regardless. They need our support and I agree with his wishes.

None of us know who or when the new manager will arrive but we must continue to give our all to the team starting tomorrow night.
