Fonte Wants Wembley Return

Fonte Wants Wembley Return

He said that the realisation of how big Southampton Football Club is came when seeing how many fans had turned up to cheer the team on in that game against Carlisle.

He told Saints OS, ' When I took the decision to come here, I already knew what a big club this is, but when we won at Wembley and I saw the 50,000 Southampton fans I realised that this is a massive club, and one that is heading in the right direction.'

He added that the memory of such an amazing day has whetted the team's appetite for more of the same, in preparation for tomorrow's game at home to Swindon.

He added that he knows Swindon will be a hard team to beat. They did well last year and beat us twice so we will be ready for a tough confrontation with them.

I hope that after the Rover's game we can keep building some momentum. Another good win would be nice but any type of win will do for me.

Fonte is not the only one who would like a cup return ticket for Wembley. I would also love the chance to go back as it could be a while before we get another opportunity.

He certainly didn't play as though he wanted to return to Wembley last night.
