The scouser has been working on a specially adapted fitness regime all week with the purpose of sharpening him up ready for action.
He said that everyone from the physios, to the coaching staff and Dean have been superb this week.
He went,'They've understood exactly what I needed, and what I've lacked in the last few weeks. They've been brilliant to help me fulfill what I need. I'm feeling good at the minute and hopefully can take that into Saturday now.'
He continued by saying that goals were not his prime requisite as he feels that performance comes first. He says that when his performance is back he will then start scoring.
He also noted that the team has had a few players carrying knocks and that it won't be long before the team is back to it's best.
Rickie added that the team did not enjoiy losing 3-0 to Swindon and will be looking to rectify that on Saturday.
There seems to be a determination in the squad to put the last couple of results behind them and they seem fully focused on the task in hand.
Maybe just maybe, we will see the re-emergence of our talisman as a permanent threat to all opposition defences now that he feels he is finely tuned.
We can but hope so.
