Please Can Southampton Have A Manager Soon?

Even Caretaker manager Dean Wilkins has been quoted as saying that a new manager is desperately needed as soon as is possible to help lift the team and give it the direction that it needs.

After the Swindon Town defeat Dean told Radio Solent that, 'everbody feels we have a big strong squad, but you only have to look at the options on the bench when we go a goal behind, it becomes difficult then.'

He added, ' We're not scoring when we are on top and that's the biggest problem. I'm convinced if we go a goal up we go on and win 3-0.'

Dean has also been quoted as saying how he has enjoyed the task set him as caretaker boss. The lads he said have worked well and he is pleased with most of the performances other than the lack of goals.

The Saints fanbase are unanimous in requiring the same thing and though some feel the man in pole position at the moment, Nigel Adkins, is not their first choice, he should be more than capable of getting us back into the CCC.

I think he will do a good job for us if it is him and hope that a decision is made very, very soon.

We have now dropped into the bottom three and that is still leaving us in a better position than this time last year so we still have hope of making it to the higher reaches of the league by the season's end.

All we need is the arrival of our new manager for us to start playing as we can. A couple of additions might also be needed but otherwise the team is not in to bad a shape. Goals apart.
