Southampton Fitness Boost

Southampton Fitness Boost

After the game against Colchester he revealed the latest news regarding the fitness of some players in the squad.

He is looking forward to his first week of training with the squad as they prepare for the game at Sheffield Wednesday.

He was extra pleased to see our favourite son Adam Lallana doing some light running on the training ground as he starts gaining his fitness ready for a return much anticipated by us all.

David Connolly has had a scan as he has a hip problem, or a muscle problem in his lower abdomen. Nigel said that David has a strain in there of some sort so we are treating that.

He was pleased to see Lee Barnard return but even he is carrying a little condition. He added that Lee did well to keep going for the team and his is another condition that the club is monitering closely.

Though he has not yet seen Aaron Martin play Nigel said that he knows Aaron is building a reputation. He also stressed the importance of looking after him and his back problem as he is just a young man.

Nigel did say that with such a good medical staff in place they would make sure that Aaron would have his condition monitored so that it can settle down as quickly as is possible.

Aaron is going to be a big part of the group of players we have Nigel concluded.

Sounds as though we are down to the bare bones with our strikers. That is not good news no matter how you try to dress it up. Time for a loanie and bloody quick I think.
