Saints Academy In Dallas Cup

After a scorching season in which Saints' academy won the FA Premier Academy League, the youngsters are now preparing to take on the world's finest.

Saints' have been invited to take part in the Dallas Cup. The competition will mean that Saints will face some of the youth teams of many of the world's top clubs. Real Madrid, AC Milan and River Plate have all confirmed their participation in the tournament.

This is the latest success in a long line of fine achievements for the Saints' academy, which is now thought of as one of the finest in Europe. Last season alone 11 players came through the academy to feature in the first team under managers Harry Redknapp and George Burley.

Saints head of recruitment Malcolm Elias was obviously delighted to hear the news. He told www.saintsfc.co.uk : -

'Whichever group of players we take this will be a fantastic opportunity for them.'

Saints fans will no doubt be hoping that the success of the academy will continue into the future and that it will help to strengthen a weakened first team squad.

I'm not sure about beating Madrid's youth but Saints have definitely got one of the best academies in England
