'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Plymouth U18's 1 Saints U18's 3

Jason Dodd took a large travelling party to the game and included Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the starting eleven.

Dean Wilkins was there as well to run his eye over our youngsters and to see how they were coming along. He will have enjoyed the way that the team grew in stature in the second half.

Two quickfire goals from first team scholar Joe Curtis and winger Lloyd Isgrove put the youngsters in control and even the late goal from the Plymouth youngsters would not have dampened the spirits much.

The second half was all Saints predominantly as they controlled the flow of the game. The third goal was no more than they deserved and was scored on the hour by Sam Hoskins.

The team is growing in confidence all the time and winning has become a marvellous habit that they will hopefully be able to maintain.
