'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Southampton Expect Hard Game

The announcement of Paul Ince as Magpies new manager will surely add some spice to the encounter as he will have a team of players trying hard to impress him.

Nigel Adkins said whilst talking on the Saints Player that Paul returning to football with Notts County will raise the stakes for the game.

'It can work in all sorts of different ways, we just have to focus on ourselves and expect the unexpected.'

Nigel added, 'The players one would imagine will have a bit more of a spring in their step in respect of trying to impress a new manager, but we have to focus on ourselves and do what we have to do.'

The manager knows that if we can get a good solid performance and the three points it will set us up nicely for the home game on Tuesday against Dagenham and Redbridge.

It is possible that two good results could have us in the top sic on Tuesday night which would be a small achievement in itself.

The gap is closing and as we regain some of the form shown last season I feel certain that we will continue to climb towards the top of the table.

I don't want to sound over confident but two wins must surely close the gap and as long as we continue to improve we will be right in the mix come the January transfer window.

We should be settling into NA habits now so expect to see us win.

This is the sort of game we could have lost last year. This year with a different boss we may see a difference. We are now playing with a lot more width and I hope this will lead to three more points tomorrow.

Paul Ince won't want to make it five defeats in a row against Saints after we beat his team, MK Dons, 4 times last season.
