Miller Extends Saints Stay
Saints' veteran goalkeeper Kevin Miller has signed a 12 month extension to his current deal with the club.
Miller came out of retirement to cover the injured Bartosz Bialkowski but ended up a first team regular towards the end of the season due to the erratic form of promising young keeper Paul Smith.
Saints' manager Burley, who recently convinced Miller to come out of retirement, told the club's official website:-
'Our good run at the end of the season
coincided with Kevin being in the team.'
'We lost only one game with him in goal - and we should have
won that one because we played so well.'
Burley was also encouraged by the progress of young polish keeper Bialkowski after a lengthy layoff with a serious knee injury.
He told www.saintsfc.co.uk:-
'Bartosz is making good progress but we don't want to rush him back. He might not be far away from joining in in a month's time but we will take it week by week.'
Fans will be eager to see the return of the promising young keeper but in Miller the club have a more than capable replacement.
