The Saints Foundation Shirt

The Saints Foundation Shirt

This is a further demonstration of the club and it's demonstrating the wish to keep aiding the local community through it's Saints Foundation charity.

The Peterborough game will be the first of five games in which the team will have the Saints Foundation Logo emblazoned on the front left of the shirt beneath the Saints crest.

Nigel Adkins has given his blessing to the idea saying that the club has a great reputation for the work that it does in the local community.

He said, 'Giving the Saints Foundation the home shirt as a platform to promote their brand is an excellent idea and I look forward to supporting their ambitions going forward.'

The amount of workthat the club does has developped well over the last six months. It has specific targets through the foundation and one is to become a fund raising charity as well as a successful sports delivery and education programme.

It's first ambition is to raise £150,000 in order to build a multi-use games area in the St Mary's area. This will be a real boost to the options that the young will have as their is limited sport and recreation facilities available in the area.

The head of Saints Foundation Mark Abrahams explained the significance of the branding opportunity.

'To have the Saints Foundation brand visible on the home shirt is an incredible gesture by the Executive Chairman, and clearly demonstrates the importance he places on the club's work within the local community.'

'We are working outside the traditional boundaries of the football industry, and it's proving successful. We need to raise the profile of what we are doing and there's no better place to do this than on the front of the first team shirt.'

The list of games where the logo will be worn on the team shirts is :-

20th November 2010
1st January 2011
8th March 2011
16th April 2011
25th April 2011

For the Peterborough game the Saints Foundation will be able to promote its wide array of projects with activities both before the match and at half-time.
