Jason Dodd had a few selection problems with Sam Hoskins and Jack Dovey both out injured.

Trialist shot stopper David Wotton and Jordace Holder-Spooner a striker replaced those two and were both in good form.

Saints were unable to break the deadlock in the first half evenm though they looked the more likely to brek the ice.

several chances were made in the first half but no net bulging was seen to happen in the first fortyfive minutes.

Fifteen minutes into the second half the duck was broken when Holder-Spooner tricked his way through the Palace defence before slipping the ball safely into the Palace net.

Saints were in no way secure though, and after a double substitution a goal from Joe Curtis doubled the advantage.

Despite Palace scoring a goal themselves Saints were able to hold on without too many scares.

Jason Dodd was pleased with the way the team played. He was especially pleased with Holder-Spooner who never stopped running.

His work-rate was phenominal and Jason mentioned the lad specifically due to his superb performance.

Another win for the Academy to keep the run going which has to be a big plus.

The youngsters are getting a brilliant grounding and after an unsteady start to the campaign are now finding their feet.
