Southampton FC Up For Sale?

Southampton FC Up For Sale?

Four months after the death of our saviour Markus Liebherr it is claimed that the family have decided to sell up.

If true, where would that leave us as we look forward to the January transfr window to strengthen our playing squad for the push to get us up into the Championship.

The timing of such a move would seem slightly strange, though, so soon after Saints resubmitted ambitious plans for their Staplewood training ground.

It was also stressed at the time that the five-year plan to reach the Premier League was still running and every endeavour would be made to successfully fullfill the dream of our late owner.

While Saints supporters are understandably keen on receiving an answer over such a major issue, the club reiterated it would not comment publicly when it comes to media speculation, according to the Daily Echo when they asked for confirmation.

With Nigel Adkins saying that there was money in the kitty for the transfer window and that Nicola Cortese was fully behind him I find the whole scenario unappetising.

I just cannot believe that things could change so drastically with the team slowly closing in on a top six space and joining in the fight for promotion.

This is bloody scaremongering to most of us. At least it wants to be as I dread to think who would be able to take us on with the money we need in the next year or three.

This is so bad. God, I hope it is just more hot air from the Sun. If not we have to pray that someone sees us as a good buy and comes in to keep our recovry going
