Spirit In Saints Camp Is High

Spirit In Saints Camp Is High

The trip is part of the club's traditional approach to the festive season and the money paid in by the players was matched by the club.

Nigel told the Saints Player, 'Xmas is always a very special time, and there are some unfortunate people in hospital at this important time of the year. So it is great that the players can go and contribute in what little way that they can.'

The tour of the wards added a different aspect to the pre-game training for the visit of Brentford to St Mary's.

Nigel added that the players have done well with their training and the spirit in the camp is excellent.

Frazer Richardson and Rickie Lambert have both returned to full training this week and are both ready for the game.

Lee Holmes though will be out for a while after having an operation on his ankle. The boss is disappointed for Lee because he had seen what he has to offer and was hoping that Lee could get a run of games to help him consolidate his place in the competition for places.

It was stressed that the injury was nothing to do with previous injuries and the manager said he felt for lee because he is a good lad and can add something to our game.

He then spoke about the coming game and again said that he was confident of getting the desired result against Brentford.

Though the Bees have won their last four away games Nigel says their run has to come to an end and added that it will stop on Saturday.

I for one sincerely hope that this is true because we have to win our home games if we are going to succeed with our aims and reach our target.
