'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jose Fonte Expects Battle

After the game against Exeter which was a very convincing win by the same score that Dagenham were beaten by when they made their first visit to St Mary's.

Jose said that the team was expecting a much tougher game this time around. He added that with the team fighting against relegation and having a small pitch it will be a vastly different type of game.

He is looking forward to the battle and knows that their won't be as many opportunities to open up the Daggers defence as there was at St Mary's.

This game will be a contest where the braver more determined outfit will succeed. Jose said to the OS 'We have the right players here, the mentality is right, but we know that we have to go out there and do the job.'

For me the test is whether our team can now adapt the style of play to such grounds as we will meet a few in the coming months and sweet touch play is not always the answer.

Finishing Jose stressed that the team want to end up as champions. The players know that Brighton have a good team but having moved into second place the players are feeling much more confident.

Though nothing in football is ever certain the players will give their all to try to make it happen.

This afternoon will hopefully that the talk is not cheap and we have the power needed at such grounds.

Jose has looked back to his best recently and will earn his wages today as I expect a much better fight from the Daggers.
