Southampton Partnership With Mercedes-Benz

Southampton Partnership With Mercedes-Benz

January 29th 1886 saw Karl Benz file the original application for a patent on a three wheel motor car. That is the day which is recognised as the birthday of the motor car which means it celebrates 125 years today.

Both companies are part of the Ridgeway Group which is ranked as the 26th largest Motor Retail Group in the country.

The deal which will last until summer 2012 will enable the club to benefit from special offers and will also include two mini-buses supplied by car manufacturer for use by the Academy.

Nicola Cortese Saints Chairman said, Mercedes-Benz is a world class brand, and we are proud that they have decided to associate themselves with us.'

'Their brand ideals of 'the best or nothing' fit perfectly with what we are trying to achieve here at Southampton.'

Reading through the speeches it appears that Saints fans could also benefit for some discounts through this new partnership.

All in all I am pleased that the club is continuously striving for ways to further enhance our brand.

Cock a Hoop! Just rushed out to order my new Mercedes...I believe I'm eligible for a Senior's discount ;+) Although it's a major sponsorship deal I don't think it comes with a shirt sponsorship deal for next season. Am I right on that?

Still think I'll need to win the lottery before I can afford one of them but I think it is more a case of the brand name being spread. I don't see that many Mercs being sold to us fans but if the deal gives something to the club that is good enough for me. Though if I could afford to buy a merc the cost of a shirt might just be pocket money.
