'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Nigel Adkins Sings Lambert's Praises

The Scouser had more than one reason to celebrate the weekend as his second child, a son, was born just hours before the game against Carlisle.

Nigel said to the Saints Player, 'It was a good goal. He had a superb season last year, and on the back of that he has had to get his body right this season. He is that focal point for us, the target man.'

Rickie has had a poor start this season in regards to last season, but is starting to show the form that we know he can produce.

His work commitment has improved as he has become fitter and with our squad returning slowly to full strength it is possible that our Rickie can help guide us to somewhere near the top of the league.

Nigel said that it took some tme to get Rickie as he should be but now we are starting to see the end product again.

Nigel took time out to congratulate Rickie and his wife on the birth of baby Mason and explained that Rickie had been up late for the arrival of his son.

He did say that he was far from satisfied with the performance and said that at half-time and full-time he had rminded the players that he wants the team to move the ball quicker.

Hopefully we will be able to cheer the manager up at Rochdale next Saturday.

I agree that Rickie has not been himself until recently. The goals have started to come and he can still power us on to glory.
