Southampton Duo In League Team Of The Week

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to form after his stint with the England Under 21's. He tormented the Carlisle defence and caused problems again and again.

The left back was beaten frequently and had to resort to fouling Alex in his losing attempt to stop him. Ending up with two yellows and an early bath.

Alex also provided the cross which was met by Lambert to score the only goal of the match.

Jose Fonte also played a full part in helping us grab the points though the team struggled to produce the normal quality of performance.

His commanding of the defence was supreme and he showed that he is not afraid to go forward when the opportunity arises.

Alex fully deserves to be in the squad and Jose maybe is a little lucky though he done ok. Alex is surely gonna be something special if he continues his progress. Good news for the team though.
