Skacel In For Talks

Skacel In For Talks

Vital Southampton understands that controversial Hearts midfielder Rudi Skacel will be at St Marys today to discuss a move to Saints with manager George Burley. The midfielder has said he wishes to leave Hearts and now it seems that the south coast is his favoured destination.

He did not travel to Hearts pre-season training camp after declaring that he would be leaving the Edinburgh club.

Hearts will now seemingly negotiate the release of the Czech winger after previously standing firm about his transfer request. The fee that Saints would have to pay to get their man is rumoured to be around 1 million.

Skacel is undoubtedly an exciting talent but has shown himself to be quite volatile at times, most notably after the departure of George Burley. If he does join Saints, fans will no doubt be hoping that he is at the club for the long haul.

Sounds like he and Burley rate each other quite highly then. Maybe Burley brings out the best in him. I guess if he signs then we will see...
